Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Ooh yeah, severe cramp, like being shot by a sniper rifle from somewhere in the crowd! Had it in 2 races and just managed to limp it home fortunately. :-) G

Brilliant work. I knew about half a dozen running at London and only one hit their A target, all said it was very hot!

Ive entered Seville marathon for February 2026. Got to find that 30secs to get under 3.15 this time.

Happy memories for me as my first sub 3:15 attempt (and success!) to join the club, 2008. Omgosh that's a long time ago. :-) G

Bazo, my sub 3 was 2013, well over a decade ago! And WHW that killed my marathon pace, such as it was, 10 years next month!

I is officially old! :-) G

How time flies. I still recall you cruising past me about the 10k mark. Think i sneaked a sub 3:15 that day

It’s six years since my sub three and last marathon, apart from the virtual VLM in2020

I’ve not told the family yet but my names in the ballot for next year. Doubt I will get in, but I have a 100% success rate from two previous ballot applications.

Thank you! I've done it a couple of times before, last was in 2014 but I misjudged my pacing and blew up, hated it from mile 10 onwards so I have a bit of a score to settle regardless of my result, just to pace it properly! I don't think the course profile hill-wise is any worse than the 20 miler I raced in March, so I'm hopeful I can get it right this time with a good training block. A friend / clubmate lives over that way so I'm hoping to tap her up nearer the time to do a lap of the course as a training run with me so I can remind myself of the hill profile.

Got something to say?
