Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Any of the Scottish East Coasters going to Edinburgh Parkrun tomorrow ?

Despite being heavy legged after intervals and an MP effort last night I am heading there with the knowledge that HappyG recorded 19:14 last week and keeping that as an arbitraru target time.....

Go for it Bazo. If wind stays off you should be able to smash my time, I'm sure. I hope to be back in a few weeks to smash it myself! Half marathon up in Monifeith on Sunday though, so not parkrunning myself tomorrow.

Went with a short intervals session last night - 11 x 400m off about 90s recoveries. Managed 79-84s per 400, most about 81, 82s. Felt hard, but hey, intervals are hard! Loved being overtaken by the teenagers!

Sub 1:30 on Sunday or I'm hanging up my running shoes and taking up smoking and drinking instead! :-) G

Reykjavik marathon sounds great. Our whole club went out a couple years back. They have a half on the same day (and a 10K?) so partners who weren't up to mara distance could do it too. They recommended the Blue Lagoon (don't know if that's a natural feature, the name of a bar, or maybe a vodka based cocktail?) :-) G

Agree Reykjavik marathon sounds great. I do fancy an overseas marathon one day. Has anyone done Lisbon, which seems to run along the coast?

Hope you smash it Happy :)

Go for it Baz. Nice session Happy.

May sound strange but I actually want to get some DOMS, 3 weeks with very little running and I found Monday nights run of 7.7 miles a real slog. I know I have been lucky injury wise compared to others, starting to increase the miles and the sessions again so hope that gets the legs and lungs back to somewhere near where they were.

Daz, I was very close to booking Lisbon this year and it was just the cost of an extra holiday that stopped that plan as Lisbon didnt look to be doable on the cheap for a family of 4. I had a chat with them at VLM expo I think and they sold it to me.

Mr G, you will break 90 mins for sure, in fact you could probably afford for it to be 1200 metres long and still break 90 mins ;-)

Pace is shocking so the Barry Buddon HM will be interesting this weekend.

Have done a lot more running at marathon pace this time round but think I need to do some quicker runs over the next few weeks.

I find MP running in training hard and worry about HM running which oddly seems to be OK on the day and feels easier than MP in training ever does...

Ah, don, I shall see you at Barry Buddon. Our recent times are very similar. What time are you going for there? :-) G

Cheers Baz.

Re MP in training - I always find it tough when on my own. For some reason anything under 7mm on my own seems a slog! Intervals at club, running with others and races its never an issue!
