Exactly, it's just over the Snake pass for me, so no problem at all to get to. I'll be having a look should I be in a position where I'm chasing the 2:45 'dream' in the Spring of 2020 👍

Manchester was my first marathon and I have some bad memories. It’s where I realisedasub 3 isn’t that easy. Will have to go back one day to put them to bed

57.5 Degrees of Pain
I chose Manchester for the easy flights (we don't get much choice from Inverness) and because the wife fancied a long weekend there. Have paid no attention what so ever to the course, but clubmates enjoyed it last year.

My turn to be struggling a bit...this week has been spent gently jogging since last Saturday's race, tired legs and some brutal winds since then so I knocked a hoped-for threshold session on the head (to be fair it looks like I've rarely if ever done this one in previous training blocks). Just one more monster workout this weekend to brace myself for and the weather looks much better for that on Sunday morning. Decided that I should definitely aim for 2:45 at Mancs though realistically it's probably just out of range. It should be a near miss. (Blogged in more tedious detail.)

I had a look at the blog jda, must admit (as I've said before) I'm very jealous at your conversions. I'll not pretend to understand all of the rbr blogs, all I know is if I do a few hilly parkruns my ranking plummets, whereas my HMs and Marathons rarely score as a handicap counting run. The legs feel quite decent after the HM on Sunday but I do feel more generally tired - I've managed a decent 10 miler with 4 and 3 miles at threshold HR on Tuesday, and then a 30/30 sharpening/interval workout at lunchtime today. Planning on my longest run for Saturday AM (23 miles) and for this to be my biggest week ~85 miles, as yet undecided whether to end the run with an effort or may try and do the last 10 progressive. |

By plummets I mean it goes down (in a good way)!

Little Miss Happy
We are forecast to be stupidly windy until Monday. I'm really struggling to do anything other than plod in winds gusting 45mph ish.

Good to get the struggle out of the way now jda so it’s gone by race day. LMH, I’m struggling with pace too and am supposed to be doing a solo 10k on Saturday in the wind somehow 😩 Got a rub down with the physio tomorrow soa hoping it’ll bring some energy |
