Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Absolutely. Thankfully they were rightly challenged about it and the incident widely shared on local social media.

That's terrible MN. Some people have real hang ups.

The thing is (you know me, always trying to see every side!) it only takes one bad experience with a runner or cyclist for some people to then take the huff against the whole fitness community. And there are some runners or cyclists who do go too fast, too close etc. to other park users. But yeah, wish everyone could just be a bit more considerate and tolerant of each other. Sad.

Oh I agree Happy. As a runner, cyclist and car driver every group has its bad elements and they tend to get highlighted or noticed more than the considerate ones.

Like many things, the news included it's mainly the extremes that are noted and not the 90 odd percent in between that are grand in reality.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Maybe 10 years ago I was marshaling the District X-country Relays at the furthest part of the course. The other marshal near me was behind bushes and out of sight and earshot.

A guy in his 60s stopped by when the course was quiet and had a pleasant chat with me about how he'd been a runner in his youth. Then he walked around the corner of the course and gave my colleague a tirade of abuse.

There's nowt as queer as folk...

Quite a few ultras on the list now. Six weeks to recover from the Cateran before the Ochils ultras *waves to _andy_* ;-) And the revivified G2E is there.
