Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Anyone got any news they can share as to why the Highlander Backyard Ultra at Blair Castle was stopped yesterday evening ?

There was still more than one runner going strong I believe, and the event had been advertised to run from 19/7 to 23/7, although as always with these events you have no idea how long they'll last.

Was it weather related ( some horrendous rain/lightening/etc in some parts of Scotland), or a medical emergency, or equipment malfunction, something else ?

Just curious, never heard of these being stopped before, so must have been something serious.

@MikeR. was there and said to await official update so I’m guessing it’s more complicated than weather

Did everyone see that my and @K5 Gus Gus's former clubmate won Bamburgh to Edinburgh Castle ultra by 2 hours?

She might even have been Anna Banana on here a while? Amazing! So talented. :-) G

Spectacular result. Loved the description of being back home before anyone else finished. Remember running an ultra where one of the leaders had gone home, showered, changed, then came back looking extremely fresh and smart to see the last few across the line (there were fewer than 15 runners, to give that a little context)

Got something to say?
