It's odd - until Greppers mentioned it I didn't have any doubt at all that they survived. I think that's the implication anyway as the story is largely about Kevin (via Olive's probing) getting back his own will to live.

Every plot summary I have seen refers to him 'saving her'.

I think I'd quite like to see the TV miniseries now to see what they made of this.

In other news, I just finished Olive, Again tonight and loved just as much.

I thought this was going to be very Anne Tyler-esque. I like a bit of Anne Tyler but she gets a bit samey after a while and there’s a coolness about them. This got a lot more raw and a lot more interesting. I really liked it. Still a very certain world certain perspective but I thought Olive a tremendous character
