Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I love sock yarn! I’m sewing at the moment! I have some fabric I wove in lockdown, I’m hoping to make into a dress! I fell in love with a merchant and mills pattern. I’ve just made the bodice in calico to see how it fits but I’ve bought some blue linen today to go ahead with the dress! I need to wash it first!

I have also amassed a ridiculous amount of single skeins of beautiful sock yarn.

Sometimes I have as many as three skeins of the same colourway, but rarely.

It's really true that buying yarn and using it are actually two different hobbies.

I totally agree with you Raetomic Kitten. About 8 years ago, I bought a lot of yarn and still haven't got around to knitting it yet!!

So true! See also: fabric...I still have a huge stash from Covid days when I was selling face masks and branched out into bags. I have got rid of some of it, but plenty remains.

I had to get rid of quite a bit of my yarn stash to make room for a piano in my craft room! I’ve also sold one of my looms but it’s still a bit crowded in their and I think I still have more yarn than I can use in my lifetime so I may go and clear some more 🤣

I’ve just finished a top I started in 2017! It was intended as a beach/bikini coverup but it got put to one side. I dug it out earlier this year, did a bit, then put it aside again! Finally finished in time for my honeymoon. Though not after re-doing the border on one half several times, once because I read the pattern wrong, once because I then ripped out the wrong one, and once because I then realised I’d put it on the top instead of the bottom! Still not convinced I’ve put right sides out but it’s staying now!

Photos to follow when it’s dry

Here’s the top, though I may not actually take it on honeymoon due to space 🤦🏻‍♀️

Both lovely, Meglet. I have a beach cover up I started making on holiday in 2017 which I should pick up again!

I need to restart cross-stitching. Stopped a while ago (too many jigsaws to do and books to read) - gave some away, but still have a few kits under my bed

Tried to make cards with little completed kits, but they're under my bed as well - doubt anyone would buy them as they're rubbish (my attempt at making cards, not the completed cross stitching ha ha)
