Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I have re-knitted my sleeve. Take 2 worked. Onto the second sleeve now (after an interlude with a hood).

Anyone fancy a bit of a Fetch sewing bee? GBSB has made me all nostalgic. I'd like to try one of their challenges, in the allotted time...

I’d give it a go. I don’t think I could do it to time. It usually takes me ages even to start cutting. I like to make sure everything matches and to minimise the amount of fabric used by efficient folding. I’m also too perfectionist, I like my seams finished properly and to hand sew hems.

I'm the same as you SS, except for the hand sewing!

I have a lot of yarn and need to figure out what to make with it. Unfortunately I don't have huge amounts of each type, as I had socks in mind for some/most of it. I should make hubby another pair of socks though...he loves his first set of handmade socks.

I'm sewing a lot at the moment, but couldn't do it to time. I want properly finished seams too, but I do resort to the blind hem foot on the machine, especially if it's a full skirt

Life is too short to hand sew hems! Manufactured clothes have machine sewn hems so I consider them fine on handmade items. Though I’m not averse to handsewing if it’s really called for.

I can whizz through a pattern of its well written, but the Sewing Bee doesn’t really give them long.

I bought a sewing machine last year but haven't had much time to use it as swamped with yoga. That finishes this weekend though, so will have time to sew after March is finished.
