Ah, that’s annoying Muttley :-( Hope it’s nothing too serious and the physio can sort it quickly

That's bad luck, Muttley. Hope you get fixed soon.

Jenny - it's good you're settling into the plan. Sounds like it's going well.

I found the 10K distance really tough the first time I did it but the long row on the Pete Plan stays at 10K for a few weeks and it's got easier as I've got more used to it. It might be worth tweaking the plan or repeating weeks if you feel you're not ready to increase the distance on the long row. I occasionally do that if I've had a few days off or am feeling tired.

The leg pain is fading but I'll go see the physio anyway. I suspect it's a tendon issue.

In the meantime it's okay to erg, so 5,000 metres done easy this morning then 4 x 800 metres/2 min rest. Target pace hit with a smidge to spare. All is good.

I find the longest pieces are a bit of a drag - I see no harm in breaking them down to 20-minute or whatever segments, with a couple of minutes in between to stretch, wipe down, stand up, take water etc.

Good day all. Just reporting 2 x 20 minutes easy. Was going to do 3 chunks but for some reason it was heavy going by perception and hr.

Glad your leg's improving, Muttley. Hopefully you won't be off running for too long. Sounds sensible only doing 2 reps today. Your session yesterday sounds quite tough, so you're allowed a recovery day!

Lammo, thanks for that. It's great to know we can always count on Fetchies for support.

Still feeling fired up today but it turns out that's quite good for erging, as I've just taken nearly a minute off my 6000m PB. :-)

Hi folks,

I got 5k done and it's better than not having done it. I got about 2k in and the inner voice was saying "WHy are you bothering? What's the point?" but I just kept going and got it done, so that's something.

I feel better having done it. I'll try to do something again tomorrow and see where that gets me.

Cheers for being here guys. Appreciate it.

From a Reddit thread I follow today:

"I'd finished my AT pieces and actually done some weights and was stretching and I saw someone servicing the ergs! They don't get much serious use so I was pleased to see this. I walked over and engaged the chap in conversation. The long and the short of it was this (loosely translated from Swedish) The chap with the tools: "Yeah, these machines are pretty basic, there are much better ones on the market, with real resistance. You know, so your arms and lats get a proper workout." I was lost for words and said "well as far as I know most of the elite and olympic rowers in the world train on Concept machines..." To which he replied "Oh I doubt that". I smiled and walked away."

I needed that smile.
