ppfftt - first outing on legs only (no chlorinated water or biddy clip in pedals to impede me........ for an entire week! appalling. The run I mean - really, lose all your fitness in a week anyone?! hurumph. going to go again tomorrow to try and chase it back. At least kept it to 70% HR, very disciplined. THWACK

Sticking with the 10 miler training regime, I ran a steady 5.5 miles. Nothing special to report uneventful run.
BTW jude, I knw what you mean about how much you lose after just week off. I hope you never have the experience of having to take several months off...its as if you'e never run at all.

What a difference a day makes. Lovely 12M run along the river, on the first warm sunny morning here in ages. Rowers were out on the water, and I really noticed the trees and foliage are blooming after the rain. First long and 'back to normal feeling' run after been out with a cold, so it felt especially great!

Recovery run from yesterdays fell race. Choose the tough hilly 5 miles, as I am contemplating racing a trail race on a Saturday and racing another trail race as part of a relay team the day after. Wanetd to see if I'd cope... well, seems to be the case. Legs were fine and completely niggle free, no stiffness, brill! Sun was out as well and hardly any wind. If only I'd had that yesterday... when it bucketed it down, there was a gale blowing and we even had hail once! All during my 10 mile race... oh and off course, when I finished the sun was shining

10k race. Not nice but not bad. No PB but no blisters either - that's a first! Gorgeous day too.

6 miles but hard work - one glass too many last night, bed after midnight, restless sleep, bit of a headache but I did it :D

Ultra Kazzaaaaah!!
Hot and hilly 10 mile race!
When I ran this race last year everyone kept saying that it was a challenging course but I didn't find it that bad - put it down to the torrential rain on the day. Found out today that it is as challenging as they say. All in all, was not overly upset to have been 4 mins slower than last year.
Less pleasing was the post-race visit to the first aid tent to get my blisters treated. Have now got to the stage where they're bleeding. Really don't know how to break the cycle. Getting very frustrated.

Sheffield Half Marathon. Enjoyed it but didn't get quite what I wanted but I'm tired still from Prague so probably expected a bit too much from myself.
