Intervals but not too hard to wake me up for 5 miles. Enjoyed it, just beat the rain.
Well done Max, I'm glad Gobi helped you. Knackered but happier eh?

I wasn't going to post again before going on holiday, mainly because I have been feeling so fed up with the work situation and I didn't want to go on too much about it on here.
However, I had an excellent run today, one of the best since I started the marathon training almost 9 weeks ago now, so I thought I would post about it. I did a hard 9 miler yesterday at the lookout, with lots of hills and averaging about 8:15 per mile, which I was quite pleased about, but I thought that would make today's 10 miler quite hard, and I thought I'd better take it easy today.
The first mile was quite easy at 9:20, but then each mile was slightly quicker than the last. When I got to the 8th mile and it was sub 8 minutes, I thought I must have pressed the lap timer at the wrong time, but then the 9th mile was even quicker, so I couldn't have. The 10th mile was quicker again and I was really feeling good at that stage, but that was the end of the run. It wasn't just the speed that was good, it was the fact that my heart rate was only 140bpm, which for me at that speed is quite low, especially after running the previous 6 days in a row. Although the 10 miler was a lot slower than my 10 mile race pace, it was definitely good for a training run at this stage and now I don't even feel like I have run 10 miles today.

Brilliant FR, sounds like you are in good shape. Have a nice holiday, forget about work while you're away and I hope it all gets sorted out on your return.

Thanks Ian. I'll try to forget about work, but it might not be easy. I won't forget about the running though. Fortunately this week was a step back week, so the long run on Sunday is only 12 miles. So' I've got to do one 12 mile run, two 9 mile runs, one 4 mile run, one 3 mile run and a hill session while on holiday. I hope I don't get lost.

Good one for me today. 6 mile tempo run, 2 mins slower than PB, so a little too fast, and confirmed I have no idea how I set my PB on the Bedford course with the big hill

Nice one FR sounds like your in tip top shape. If it's any concelation I am going to be made redundant shortly so I know what work pressures are like. I'm not sure what your problems are but I'm sure it will work out for the best. Enjoy your holiday:)
