My run today was knackering and quite hellish for the last three miles actually.
Note to self: DONT GO ON A 20 MILE RUN AND EXPECT TO SURVIVE ON 150mls OF WATER!
I was very badly dehydrated, so much so that I got the shakes and was quite delirious and nauseous for the last two miles. Weighed myself when I got home and I was STILL 5 pounds lighter than this morning WITH my clothes on and after having had two bottles of recovery drink, a pint of water and a cup of tea!
I just never thought that I could dehydrate so severely - despite the fact that I KNOW I sweat more than most people. I'm silly but thought I'd post this just to remind people to make sure they stay hydrated; t's not pretty if you don't - I STILL feel like crap now but am improving.

150 mls is crazily small amount of water to take Ian. What made you opt for that? At least you lived to tell the tale ;o)
I also did 19 today and it was really tough because of the 9M PMP I did yesterday. Actually used 3 gels as well as 1 litre of water. Glad to have got through it anyway. Longest since my last marathon last Oct.

Put that down to experience Ian (I had a similar experience towards the end of my 1st 20miler!) - still a great run though - well done (how was the h/r?)

JB, I kept my HR to 143 until I started to get into trouble at mile 17 and I was simply running out of steam. It would have been a storming run if I had remembered to take enough water...Trouble is, out there you have no place to get any water, you have no choice but to keep going...
I'm annoyed at myself for being so STUPID, I have done exactly the same course before - it's hilly and last time I did it I used 1.5 litres so I think it was temporary insanity or somehting
Keefy, temporary insanity - I wouldn't recommend it, I'm only just starting to feel a bit better...

beatty-I'm off to asda for cookies in a mo. I never thought of that before you said anything.
I feel great now knowing I will get to my target 10 miles before I am 50 in May.

Absolutely fantastic until I hit the hill on my fourth (and final) lap. The wind was wicked all the way into the hill section and this last time it sucked everything right out of me. I arrived at the top still runnning but beginning to cramp - I finished that circuit and skipped the final section. By the time I was home, anyone could have pulled a jumbo quicker than I was running! After a slight strain and no running last week - it was so great to get back out
