Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Lovely 7 miles cross-country last night. Even saw one of my water treatment works projects - bit of a surreal clash between business and pleasure though.

Wanted to do a short run. As it was so hot outside thought I'd take myself up to Rivington. I had a lovely 2 and a 1/2 mile run around the trails through the woods. Ended up by the cafe so treated myself to an ice cream. Perfick ;-)

Early. well it was for me, anyhow. Alarm at 5.30, hit the road about 10 minutes later. I don't usually run before work but it was the only way to get the run done today and not lose it to the weekend.

Anyway it was much cooler than last night and I got in 5 very relaxed miles listening to an amusing podcast and saying hello to postmen and dogwalkers.:-)

Cracking, nice and warm, quiet, before it gets too hot for me, no one about until I got near to town again. Along canal banks, river banks, fields, got covered in yellow rape petals. Through the village I was born in. Finishing around Newbold Comyn just in time to catch Leam Spa rush hour :-)

Hot and interrupted by bumping into someone I haven't seen for years so of course I had to stop and catch up on the news. Never really got going again after that.

Just over 8 miles / 1 hour this morning and getting hot. Sweat pouring off me.
Not sure as well why I tend to run faster in heat? Did just over 10 miles yesterday in 1h12 and that was 1-3 minutes faster than my last 2 10 milers in cooler temps.

One other runner out today and loads of women walking in pairs, dog walkers, cyclists and

others probably "ill in bed" (after phoning in sick) who aren't at all taking a sickie to enjoy the sunshine (and might be looking for BBC cameras so they can announce the fact on the news and hopefully then find they're sacked because they obviously don't want that job as a sunny day is more important).

Went out yesterday evening for what should have been a fartlek session but quickly turned into a jog, run, jog, walk, jog, walk pattern. Boo. Far too hot.

First proper run after breaking my toe a month ago, and fan-bloody-tastic.
