Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

ran for a couple of hours. Very pleased that I'm still getting no back problems from the long runs. Quite enjoyed myself but I'm still finding myself worrying that the next step might set something off.

7 miles - longest since layoff in October 2010 so really happy with that. Bit of DOMS though. . .

A race. I didn't enjoy it. It was too much like hard work for the time. :-(

A nice steady run up the local hill, with the dog. A herd of cattle has been put in a field we go through, which was a bit of a surprise. The cattle were keen to see the dog, but the dog wasn't keen to see the cattle.

8 miles. Felt good, getting back in the swing after a few injuries...

Only a short 3 miles but was fab! I finally quit smoking 5 days ago and was able to do the whole run without stopping to catch my breath. This is my year!

Just over 8 miles to make up an hour. Sunny but chilly with the wind blowing in my face, it's direction depending solely on which way I was running.
Legs felt tired again. One other runner out and about on such a lovely day.

Shit.
I was 4th at a 5 mile race and the woman who was 3rd had an iPod on. So fucked off. I wouldn't have been bothered if she'd have been a stronger runner and not had to use an iPod to beat me, but no. She was literally dying as well, clearly not fit enough to run 5 miles hard without one. Fair enough, it's the only trophy you will win because 99.9% of races do not permit iPods - amateur.
At least I shaved 30 seconds off my time last year. 34.03 I think.

So the lady in 3rd didn't beat you because she ran faster then?
