I had a disaster this weekend - was away and didn't fuel properly so by the time I came to run on Sunday - I quite literllay ran out of steam at 3.5 miles.
So it was so great to put that right and get some miles in even tho I decided to use the treddie. It was a nice steady run (although I was pleased that steadies have shifted up a gear to c.14kmph since the last run'o'the mill in June).
Should be back to running the streets tomoz whooopppeeee

Sweaty Frank
Terrible run today...shame on me for being such a slacker. I am blaming my long run on Sunday, but in fact I don't seem to want to move very fast. Yesterday's revovery run was very slow (as it shoud be, right Ian?), but I did what amounted to another recovery run today. Felt like my feet were stuck in mud.
Not to change the subject, but has anyone got some advice for preventing blisters, or for hair care products for runners?

Well Frank, maybe you needed another recovery run? There is no shame in doing a couple of nice slow steady runs in sucession you know. It might be just what you needed

Hey Ian - you sh!tting yourself about the marathon yet?!
FYI - I think you are the best prepared first timer I've ever come across, so you have no reason to worry. Unless you head out at 2:05 pace that is

BB - LOL. I'll be fine (I think ).
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I feel like I've put the training in so, yes I'm looking forward to it.
I have no qualms with doing 22 miles, my last long run was that and I felt great so, fingers crossed the last four miles or so won't destroy me too much

Well my experience in my two marathons was very different to my training runs. As we discussed on the slow training runs thread, I fell to pieces after 20 miles, but that's mainly because I had trained myself to run 20 miles at MP and that's it.
We will both (fingers crossed!!) demonstrate the benefit of nice slow long runs!

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
Resting today after last couple of busy running days, chomping at the bit though, feeling very frustrated at being in although I know it is best
