Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
2 runs today, first to check out section 3 of the Round Norfolk Relay, and then a slowish... club run, think I may rest tomorrow as I have worked hard the past couple of days.

Sweaty Frank
Very stiff after taxing long-hilly run yesterday. Recovery run today along the tow path along the cancl. 5 miles at an easy pace. Losened up and ran with a normall stride after about three miles. Felt much, much better after than before.

4.8 miles last night as fast as I could and it was still too slow. God knows how I'm going to break 90 min for the Great South at this rate.

Dark! Yesterday, 5:30: dawn, birds chirping, deer in the fields, rosy glow to the sky. This morning: black sky, bats, mist. Half expected to see witches on broomsticks. The Autumn's stolen my mornings!

Yesterday ran most of my usual hilly route apart from detour to avoid bull, cows and calves in field which cut out about a mile of nice flat and gentle down hill near the end which i always look forward to. Was gorgeous tho, warm, quiet and beautiful. I think i can see an improvement up steep hills; time splits are improving and it feels easier, but long gentle gradients still defeat me, not sure why? Dog was tired at the end....think she needs to take this training a bit more seriously. Really stiff today as did not stretch properly as rushing back to meet 'small' son for lunch. Re- reminder to self - STRETCH

Had an absolute stinker yesterday. Went to run my usual 6m round the streets of Ealing. Got to about 2.5m, had a monster stitch which wouldn't shift. At the same time my right shin was getting more and more sore, it feels like someone has booted me in the leg about halfway between foot and knee with a pair of hefty boots. Bailed out at 3.5 miles and walked home.
Could the shin thing be be a hangover from an 11m run I did on Saturday ? Am I trying to put too many miles in ? Please tell me it's not shin splints, never had them but I hear it's not nice.

A nice post holiday 4.8 miles, great weather for it - sun out and a good breeze.
The only downer - tree's starting to change colour and quite a few leaves down already.
