Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I can't decide whether to do my 6 miles as per marathon schedule or save myself for my 5k race tomorrow, I would really like to be able to take the odd 20 seconds off, any suggestions? :-)

Max, all of the above and add in some IT band stretches before you go out and when you get back in.

LL, go for the run, the 5K PB will probably be in the bag anyway. Stick to the plan, treat your race tomorrow as a speed session in your training plan.

Ran into work - started slow but with three miles to go saw some fella going quite quick. Red rag to a bull, I'm afriad, so last three miles at MP (7 min/miles). Total 6.3m and we're 3 days into my longest ever mileage week (60 miles)

I have devised a plan that allows me to run in the mornings now.
4.50am alarm goes off (whack the snooze button)
5.00am alarm goes off (force myself out of bed)
5.05am remember to put some running gear on (may get locked up for naked running)
5.10am leave house for slow jog around the block.
5.15am clench buttocks together as gravity takes affect and run like hell the five min back home.
5.20am leave house once more after large evacuation, and start comfortable run safe in the knowledge you are empty, and also a stone lighter. (also you are already warmed up)
So did a 3 miler this morning quite hard work but managed 24min however I'm not sure how this is going to set me up for a sub 1hr 10K next month :(

Thanks for the advice Boaby, I don't want to change my schedule and had planned to treat the race os my effort session, but still want to improve my time. :-)

My 5th run in 3 days and my foot was ok again. Bruv was tired after 3 sessions in 3 days(youth of today no stamina) All in all a nice run and got back just before the rain.

NICE
