Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

How many miles do you get out of a pair of road shoes?

I'm well over 400 on my soon to be retired pair of Triaxes. I'm loathe to let them go, though, as they're more comfortable than the pair I ran Hull in on Sunday, which have about 150 miles on them.

Somewhere around 450 - 500 miles for me. They lose their squishiness after that.

Like Flanker, my first pair of f-lite 230's have 830 miles on them and still going strong despite a small hole in the upper. My second pair are on 340 miles and will be my VLM 2012 shoes. I wear the f-lites for all runs, fast or slow, long or short. Never had this sort of mileage from other shoes.

It takes me about 500 miles before they are comfy!

I wear them until they fall apart but I do replace my sorbathanes every 1,000 miles or so :)

My f-lite 230s have over 1300 miles on them so far and are still fine, albeit with some extra ventilation in the uppers that wasn't in the original design ;-)

so the moral to this story seems to be...

if you want to save money, run in f-lites (with the slight caveat that you might need to sort out your form first ;-))

Normally wait until the cushioning starts going, which is around 600 miles for me. Having switched to more minimalist shoes recently, that figure will probably go down depending on wear and tear.

I normally change mine around 300-400 miles but as I dont do much more than that in a year I tend to get tempted into a new pair before I possibly need to change them ;)

Nike triax and I tend to get about 600 miles out of mine. I generally have two pairs on the go at a time so by the time one pair is dead the other has been worn in.
