Hello,

I seem to be getting really cold and run down after my long runs lately. Even changing clothes and layering up doesn't seem to be helping.

It's lasting about 2-3 hours after running. No problems in that regard while doing the run. It's just shortly after I stop. I don't seem to be shivering, just feeling really cold.

Any ideas what it may be?

Do you have a nice warm shower when you're finished? Or a hot drink?

Almost everyone gets that, James.

Sounds grossly normal to me :)

Do you have hot bath/shower and something to eat soon after? Maybe try hot drinks?

Do your fingers go white?

I get that. Eat more straight away, if you can.

Try eating more during your run and maybe before too. Afterwards climb into bed and stick the electric blanket on, snuggly :) May not work so well if you're running during your work lunch hour...

Shower and eat as soon as possible after you've finished. If you want, you could also have a recovery drink afterwards. I'm not convinced whether they're scientifically any good, but I find they seem to help me.

I should add that if I don't eat/shower fairly soon after a run, I also get very cold.

I have a bath immediatly, and take a protein shake in with me to sip whilst I am warming up because I can't face solid food.
