Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

@fetcheveryone , on the Fetchworld map, could we have one of these thingies (circled in yellow) please?

At the moment, even if I zoom out to the maximum amount, I can't fit all of the game area on the screen.

Just a comment, not a criticism, I DO plan my routes with fetchpoint items in mind. The amount of things in this seems rather overwhelming which makes me less inclined to plan. But I can see others enjoying the intellectual challenge.

I have got a lot of bricks - I feel maybe they are over represented as as far as I can see they are only useful for defending your castles and there's a lot fewer of them. I have something like 43 bricks compared with about 5 dynamite.

I do agree that there are a lot of items which is a little overwhelming. I am more likely just to go out and see what happens whereas I also plan with Fetchworld.

A few random thoughts:

If a player gets to the edge of the grid (e.g. as far west as they can go), would it be feasible for them to reappear on the east side of the grid, as if they've circumnavigated Fetchworld, or would that pose all sorts of issues?

Would it then be practical to assign each player a random starting point on the map, maybe a little duchy with a certain number of squares around it? That way, we'd all have our unique little home zone but would still be bound to encounter others on our travels outward from it?

Hmm, it occurs to me that circumnavigating Fetchworld would play into the cyclists' hands a bit much, so perhaps isn't such a good idea after all!

Doesn't open water swimming count?

I logged a swim today with GPS and waited to see if I got an 'adventure' report but didn't.

I logged open water swimming today and got a notification that an adventure has been recorded. Nothing on the log so I guess I didn’t find anything (I swam in fairly small circles so didn’t cover much ‘ground’)

Here's my (dumb) question...where does the money go? I collect items that seem to go into my inventory but it occasionally notifies me that I found £65 etc but I can't see where I'm saving that money up and what I can do with it?

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
I have decided to build a new version of Fetchpoint, and for now at least I am calling it Fetchworld.

The original Fetchpoint was first launched in 2011 - and I don't know of anything else that was like it at the time. The closest thing I was aware of at the time was geocaching - but nothing virtual like this. It predated Pokemon Go by five years :-)

As with any code project, what started as a relatively clean chunk of code has taken on various bug fixes, workarounds and the code equi...
