Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Couldn't fold my Brompton for love nor money this morning the seat post just would not go down so when lifting it the rear wheel was swinging freely. Put a velcro strap around the wheel & frame & carried it that way

Phone call to dealer said to bring it in which isn't that convenient.

Anyhow upon closer inspection the rear mudguard had somehow shifted and not following the curvature of the rear wheel anymore hence blocking the descent of said seat post. Pushed it back into alignment & job jobbed.

A small victory for my admittedly limited fettling skills.

Well done adrian.

I keep some velcro tape on mine. I broke the handle bar to fork clasp, so it comes in useful.

The smallest roll I could buy was a few meters

It's a great idea to carry a bit with you. I got around 20 or so ties from 4cm for cables to about 30cm for about £5 and always keep 3 wrapped around the frame.

Good as well to stop the cables rubbing the paint off to boot.

Indeed. So I followed the bloke on Instagram and got a follow-back, which surprised me.

Seems there is nothing that can’t be found on here 😂😂 after quite a few years of “wanting but never needing” a brommie I finally got around to ordering a renewed Brompton last night … can’t wait for it to arrive so I can join MrsG for the odd spin out for coffee but most importantly take away on holiday etc with out the hassle of our “proper” bikes. Any tips for a first time owner ?

Enjoy Gromit, they are great bikes. My main tip is don't leave it locked up anywhere as they are highly-nickable (where we live anyway).
