My beloved Brompton bag is now my working from home bag - it's a magnificent thing. Haven't ridden the Brompton, I suppose, for over a year as I generally only rode it to commute on.

Yes. And OH has repaired it twice and I think put a new tube in so there must be something in the tyre.

Has anyone upgrade their Brompton wheels?
I've just sent mine in for a service (getting a new bottom bracket and chain) and was advised the front wheel bearings have gone and impacted the hub. I was given the choice between replacing the same wheel, or a slightly more expensive wheel that the bearings can be serviced & so better in the long run.
I don't use my Brompton daily, so am holding off on the wheel for now but thought if it needs replacing, I might look at options - maybe something lighter and get the rear done too. (or maybe just some time to cool off on this idea)

Not me. I still need to get mine serviced/puncture repaired. I'm enjoying the walk at the moment, so no incentive to get it done.

This might seem a silly question but…does anyone use a lock for their Brompton, and if so, which one?
I tried Googling it, but just found lots of posts along the lines of “you shouldn’t need to lock it because the point of a folding bike is you fold it and take it inside”
…thing is, I want to ride it to parkrun (normally at the moment when I’m at my home parkrun it’s volunteering), and whilst there are a lot of bikes around the start/finish area, I don’t think I’d be able to keep an eye on it at all times, and I’d be worried about it being stolen.

I use this one ~points~ - a common-or-garden cable lock. You don't want to be carrying your Brompton around Marks and Spencer Food Hall*.
*Trust me, I've done it. It is absolutely no fun.

I've only taken my cheap MTB to parkruns in the past and locked it to a tree with a cable. Maybe lock it to someone else's bike so it has additional ballast/makes it harder for someone to waltz off with it.

Thanks both - one of the lads from my club did say I could lock my bike to his, so that may be the way forward.
[Greppers, there is a lovely chap who works in our local M&S food hall, he saw me carrying the Brommie in one day and said if I bring it again to come find him and he’ll stick it behind the till for me while I shop. I’ve only taken the Brommie once since then, but it is nice of him to offer]

Nice story. I took mine in simply because I’d forgotten my lock.
