Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thank you very much RichHl and rf_fozzy - I'd looked about but could only find the conventional types on the pages where I was looking.

Just to add, I am newish to this world but chuckled at the the Merlin Cycle's comment
"The XLab Delta 105 rear mount is an inexpensive but efficient way of carrying a single bottle under your saddle"

No, inexpensive would be an empty squash bottle held in your hands as you also gripped the handlebars - not the best part of £50 !

Looking forward to seeing you Gimme :-)

Stand on a towel while you sort your other bits out in T1 so your feet are drier when you put your socks on

Hi lammo :). That's a good towel tip. I'll start making a list of that along with the socks being rolled down. I've been told that it's a good idea to put talc in socks too - is that right?

The thing that has kept me awake from 5am is, how you get out of the pool after the swim. I'm rubbish at hoiking myself up and out of the water so always use the steps. But I'd be getting other people's way then...

I had the same concern for my first pool tri GM, it was a very friendly local tri (as most of them are) and so on the morning I just asked if I could go in the lane with the steps and it was no problem, you won't get in anyone's way.

I also did one that was start at the corner then duck under the lane ropes then do the same again and again so everyone finished at the steps

Yes, my pool tri's and aquathlons have all stipulated exit via steps GM, so you'll be fine (if I'd had to haul myself out I might still be there :-) )

Following the chat on the 'Smell' thread I looked back over my blogs about my initiation in the dark
