Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Swimmers do, I don't think triathletes do as a general rule

The lady who swims 10k for GB (Cassie Patten?) doesn't use her legs too much. Certainly not compared to the others she's racing.

enjoyed my first sprint tri yesterday at the gym ,,,first up was the swim i mainly did breast stroke with a few front crawl lengths ,it was a good job someone was counting the 38 lengths !happy with the time of 18.53 ,then it was a quick change i was told i had 5 mins but noone was timing this bit ,,netherless i went straight to the bike and did my 20 km in 29.50 mins ,straight to the treadmill and i did a steady 5km in 20.47......waiting the results to be published but was happy with my first try at this ..areas to improve i would say is more swimming on front crawl rather slower breast stroke .and less talking to other people when on the bike!!!

On short swim i use me legs. Last 50 meters kick hard to get the blood going ready for bike. Long swim in open water use them to keep me balance ( 2 BEAT KICK ) + kick hard towards end to get blood going again.

Coach makes us do lots kicking drills this time of year. Cant repeat what i think of them on here lol

Im steady swimmer Pb for sp 400meters 6min 40. Opw 750meters 15min 40. Opw 3.8k 1hr 22min
