I got home after a late shift feeling a little sad that it was the first time in months that I had to put the headlights on to drive home, reminding me the days are getting shorter again. I got out of the car just as some Canada geese were doing their evening fly around before settling down for the night, and they flew right over my head. It’s one of my favourite sights and sounds of the countryside and I would have missed it if I’d got home in daylight. I was in much better spirits after that.
