Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

To be fair I go up and down (not all) top half aisles then back up and down (not all) bottom half aisles and that does land me back at the till. Well it does in my Asda.

I just go where I need to go. Sometimes I will retrace my steps if I’ve forgotten something or am avoiding a crowded area.

Which reminds me - large families shopping en masse in supermarkets, usually unsuitable parents with delinquent kids.

I've mentioned it before but it's worth moaning about again: people who shop like they're wandering around a museum, perusing the items like they're evaluating the merits of a Monet. And they usually do this while standing in the middle of the isle.

We have people like that on the Sustrans cycle routes locally!

They're fist cousins to the by to the clumps of dog walkers who stop to chat on the same routes, usually in a triangular formation so there's always one in the middle, whilst their mutts are either roaming free or on leads investigating the dog across the path.

When I used to go shopping, pre switching to delivery, I used to go in a particular order to get the heavy items first (juice, beer, wine, tins, washing gels, fabric conditioner etc) first, then meat & fish and fruit and veg last.

I never got to grips with following the arrows on the floor of the supermarket. The order in which I visit the supermarket aisles is embedded in my brain and is nothing like what the arrows wanted me to do.

I sometimes need to stand back from a shelf at the supermarket in order to read stuff properly. I also have to check my phone every minute for my shopping list - if I don’t check it, I won’t remember it.
