Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Government spokespeople who, on learning about the law of unintended consequences, or discovering what happens when they simply don't care, don't say they'll put things right but just say how much money they've spent, and that e.g. the welfare of feral cats is their top priority.

Top Gear - the whole 'laddish' concept of it, the idea that I would have any interest in a man driving a car, which is slightly odd in some way, somewhere odd in order to evoke larfs and bantz *

And now, when I look at my sports news, they're there - commenting on footballers cars. Why - is it so that the BBC can wring every last piece of £ they've spent on it to fill up their online content?

* I know many enjoy it - fair enough

Junk calls. Every. Single. Day.

This morning: "Is that Mr Gillam?"

No. Mr Gillam has been dead 25 years. We bought this house from Mrs Gillam when he died!

The fact that calls from the NHS always look and sound like junk calls - caller display says 'out of area' and the person speaking, often enough with a foreign accent, asks, "Hello, am I speaking with Mr B.....?"

We used to get those from British Red Cross of all people, McG. It was at least 25 years before they updated their calling list.
