Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Oscar's Everyone Day

Sunday 22nd June 2025
In 2021 Oscar the Grouch proposed one day each year where "we unite as a community and EVERYONE records an activity of some sort - a dog walk, a run, a swim, a ride, ski if you want...".

Sadly we lost Oscar in March 2024, so now we dedicate Everyone Day to him. Thank you for the inspiration you gave us Oscar.

Fragile Do Not Bend
Wow speedy kwala, and well done everyone getting out and doing running.

Tolkien run today, it was one of those lap ones where you get a medal as long as you do at least one lap. I was secretly hoping I could do a marathon distance but my hamstrings said otherwise so I stopped at 19 miles. Happy with that as it's my second longest run ever and makes completing Betteshanger look doable.

As is customary with these events I got a gigantic medal and a gigantic chocolate bar.

It glows in the dark!

WOW! What an awesome medal Frag and well done on the 19 miles! Love the strava map! That was fantastic training for Betteshanger :-) I do like Samphire Hoe, I wouldn't mind another challenge event there one day.

Well done Frag! I love the bling - a good heavyweight bling is much better than a poxy ill-fitting men's t-shirt any day in my book. :)

Some great running going on here guts wowsers! Kwala amazing speed 😀 Lemon well done on running after work. That was my plan on Tuesday and I failed. Frag love the blingy medal I'd love to do a challenge event like that one day. That's a great long run in preparation for Betteshanger.

With all the talk of running clubs it's made me think about my local club again. I've always felt like I'm too slow but maybe I need to go and give it a chance. They meet on a Tues evening which is the day I'm supposed to run and struggling to. Last night was leg night at bootcamp. Lots of lunges and squats again but I managed to do some jumping squats etc so some improvement. Tonight I run with my friend doing the couch to 5k 😀 it's nice to get out with her for what feels like a social run.

Well another failed after work attempt at a run. I have said out loud that I'm going to go to a running club on Tuesday 😕
