Ran the Metropolitan League Race at Claybury at the weekend. Struggled badly in the heat and with heavy legs (still!? from te Berlin Marathon). Still plenty more races to improve in.

Ross what way do you school xc work over in england, ours wasn't until feb last year, but will have to check
Over in N.Ireland we have our district trials, then go to Ulster trails then we have to join in with Ireland therefore Irish schools then over to Uk schools.

well normally we have a south county race, then another day a north county race then the top 50 from each race go through to a race in the next round after that race the top 40 go through to another race
then they take the top 12 of average through to the anglians (east of endland) then from there they take the top 8 runners in each county through to english schools
then if your amazing you go to the uk schools which i thinks top 8
make sense?
the race i have on thursday is the first one, but strangely they are putting north and south together this year on the seniors and the seniors only.
when is your first schools cross country? and how did you do last year?

Yes the seniors seem to be different becasue not as many people do them. for example the Multi events the don't allow seniors to go to the UK school.
My first schools xc is Feb as far as i saw last night when i checked so should be hittig peak form by then, but all are races are usually 1week apart.
I only ran in the multi events (sept there) and the track and field last year which i got down to the all irelands boh times. track and field i missed out on the uk schools and the multis i would have been there if they had a seniors cat.
Good luck for tomorrow anyway how it goes well
Last time i done xc for the school was 3/4 years ago but i didnt really run then. Reached the Ulsters then (2nd stage)
