I wear Inov8 boots in winter as it’s important for me to be able to walk in them and have grip in mud which sadly not many MTB shoes have. Apparently they aren’t stiff enough for riding and don’t have enough grips but I’ve found that to be bollocks and never hold me back 🙃

Don't know if 5.10's have changed from old? (hope they have) they use to be useless at keeping your feet warm when wet and then fall to bits.

That was a few years ago halfpint, I imagine they have progressed by then. I went back to SPD's so have no experience with the newer shoes.

When punctures visit they arrive in multiples. I seem to have had a month of at least one per week but yesterday took the packet of biscuits. Across 3 bikes, 1 x CX and 2 mtbs, I had one front and two rear punctures, swapping a wheel was the plan rather than fixing as I had only a short time for a ride. Tried 2 wheels, tyres were down but that was expected but even those wheels had tyres that would not hold air in the tubes. Gave up and resigned myself to an afternoon of fixing and replacing as necessary. Had the tubes but its such a frustrating thing to find when 2 of the bikes had been ridden in the last few days with no tyre issues.
Hey ho

Thank you SW, progress and me are not in sync clearly, all my bikes and wheels are at least 15 years old lol, some a lot older!

I have been promised a new bike for my next birthday which will be quite significant albeit I shall still have to wait yet another year for my state pension.

Since the last appearance of Kaph, some time ago... there are now three wheel sizes, and now new plus (+) tyres for the even more adventurous!

26 / 27.5 (650b) / 29 / 27.5+ (650b+) / 29+ / fat
whatever you ride, enjoy it :)

Gravel also welcome :)

Also, is 26 dead yet?
