Hello - can I join in now? I've got my 10k PB down from 59.08 to 56.26 a couple of months ago, and then down to 53.11 on Sunday. I'm not doing another 10k for quite a while, but sub 50 is my next big aim for it.

Howdy Zeb! Of course you're welcome here!
Hope your injury isn't too serious, Pammie.

Can I join in too please?
I've not done a 10k since 2009 and my time then was 51:47. I've got one coming up in July though so I could do with some advice on how to go sub 50
I have a 5 mile race tomorrow night which should be a good indicator of how I'm doing.

Welcome TD - to be honest, I don't have a lot of advice as such other than plenty of regular running. I've not done much (if any) speedwork recently, although I try and go flat out at a parkrun once a month or so.
Right now I'm training so much (both running and biking) it feels like my legs are made of lead, yet I still rattled off a 25 second pb at the parkrun on Saturday - it's all just kind of happening naturally at the moment.

Well I did my 5 mile race last night in 41:21 in the end, first and last miles were sub 7:30 but the middle three were very hilly and much slower with a 9:50 for mile 4 which was basically uphill all the way.
On a flatter course I reckon I would have been close to 40 minutes so I guess I just need to give a 10k a go and see how I get on.

I did 52:20 first time out and that was before I really started pushing my training harder. I need a 10k race in October or early November in which to go sub-50 and which will act as a good tune-up for the St Neots Half. Any suggestions?
