Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I had an orienteering race in Edinburgh tomorrow night that's been cancelled, but the Saturday and Sunday events are still on.

Our schools are to be shut tomorrow and suspect it'll be the same across most of the central belt councils

I’ve not been at Elgin parkrun recently as I now volunteer on Saturdays while looking for work. I’m going to try to swap one a month for a weekday so that I can take part or volunteer at parkrun and hopefully meet some of you for a coffee afterwards …?

Crathes Castle parkrun is cancelled this weekend, the estate (and all the NTS estates in the NE) is closed due to the storm.

Hoping to just do local parkrun, if it's on. Windy Wilson's report is hilarious, but with serious points about it potentially being worst for Ireland, possibly as bad as 1961 when dozens died as well as £millions of damage. Let's hope not. Be careful everyone. :-) G

We made an early call and have cancelled Elgin as still under a yellow warning on Saturday morning
