Splendid idea for a thread
I'm a terrible speedwork-dodger and it would be good for me to commit to one speed session a week. Not a half-arsed "run a bit faster than usual if my legs have some bounce in them" run, but incorporate enough actual speedwork into a session to log it as something other than a general run. Obvs. a race will count for that week's effort.

As I mentioned on your blog, I'm a bit nervous of quality sessions and whether I'm physically able to cope with them regularly, whereas I'm very comfortable with plodding out higher mileage. This could be a good focus for me.

Online with Linds hopefully. It’s Beachy this weekend so next week might be a bye for me

Does hill work count?
Big buggers; not dashing between lampposts

Oh, I saw the thread title and thought there was a new spambot, selling sofas instead of kitchens this time.
Apologies for the derailment.

Hill work could definitely count.
Dashing between lampposts at 100 mile an hour with added knee lift DEFINITELY counts too......
Just as long as you complete the session.

My weekly running pattern up to Christmas is planned to look something like: Monday jeffing 30:30 5k building up to 10k
Wednesday jeffing 5k 30:30 increasing to 3:1 Saturday parkrun - gradually cutting the time as I increase the amount of running and pace.
But Thursday's session is my quality spot - mindful and controlled. To build up to running non-stop, 2 miles initially then on from there. Today I made myself run slower than felt natural (12:30mm instead of 11mm) and also to keep running until I'd done a mile before I had a walk. Not far and not fast but deliberate.
Today I ran my fastest mile since 1st July.

I'll be back post-ultra...
Although a 'quality' session in the short term might include foam rolling, stretching and mobility.
I need some accountability, we have been talking about it at work this week.

Well done, GM.
I think this is a great idea. Thanks, Sharkie. Haven’t given it much thought yet as to what my quality session will be. Will go and reread your blog to see if it inspires me.
