Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Slightly mental morning run - in the hills (again). Started in the pouring rain with the headtorch, along muddy trails for about four miles through a pass between the hills, then headed straight up the steep hillside as the rain rapidly become sleet then snow, and the dirty grey and brown world of the early morning was transformed into a white wilderness. Over a couple of 2,000ft hills into the teeth of a gale, through the clag, and with very cold toes - cold, wet puddles followed by snow is a bad combination. A moment of sublime peacefulness out of the wind just below the second summit and then the icy blast of the elements again over the top and the ridge behind. Then a long and slippery descent which brought back into the grey and ominous gloom of the world below the snowline, but now feeling the safety of being out of the wind. Took the indirect route back by following a track away from the car (it's a trail that I'd only explored once before) as the slippery snow turned into slippery wet mud, and the horizontal snow went back to icy rain. Now feeling a bit warmed up after the first couple of hours, so let the legs go a bit and was soon back at the safety and warmth of the car after a few more miles.

Yeah, not a bad outing before breakfast (rice pudding and a triple choc cookie tactically left in the car). Worth getting up for inthe darkness with the rain hammering on the windows. :-)

Quality run Andy! :-) Twelve miles along (most of) the Freckleton Half Mara route, with clubmates, for me today. Slow but still satisfying - and dodged the rain too! :-)
