you're all bonkers! (says she, who ran round a forest in the dark this evening, without so much as a torch or a mobile phone and got scared so much that the second half of the run was faster than the first...) |

An easy 4 miles as part of my taper. Am quite calm about Sunday but feeling a bit of the psychological taper madness creeping in.

Good luck KB! If I pass my exam on Weds (find out on Fri) I'll be joining you in gay Paree next year... My run was short, a bit hard on the lungs, and snotty (been off for a week with a cold, getting back in the groove this week). If any Glasgow runners see a woman snortering like a nutter, I would steer clear of me, it was a very unpleasant lurgi...

well done all of you who had good runs yesterday. my half marathon was awful sniff sniff, i did a personal worst of 1.50, 10 mins more than my pb. I blame it on an extra half a stone and a lack of miles in septembers training, looking at my log i am nearly 50% down on august and it really showed yesterday, went off at normal half marathon pace but just couldnt maintain it as i felt like i was running almost flat out, and was knackered at 8 miles and walk/jogging from 9 onwards. at this rate i will not get another gfa time in flm, time to kick the choccy and biccies and up the mileage, if that doesnt work I think i must have plateaued in the spring and its all down hill from now!( or uphill?) |

RT - you've got loads of time to make up the difference before FLM! OK, you had a poor race, but you know why that is. If you want it at FLM, you'll get it ![]() My 'run' was great. A bit of poncing around in the gym with stretching, ab crunches and a few weights, then 10 minutes in the steam room followed by 10 minutes in the sauna. I worked up one hell of a sweat ![]() I love taper! |

What RT hasn't mentioned is that Felixstowe is the half marathon from hell. 2 laps and the start is 100m from the finish so you effectively go through the finish 3 times. there is a relentless stretch along the seafront & the course is HARD. Give me 3 weeks to get Dublin out of the way & lets meet up for some training runs RT. |
