Afternoon all.
Ian, is there space on that shelf to nudge your shiny PB aside and make some space for mine as well?
The run was great. Wonderful sunny day (bit hot!) and I went round in 37:59. What a relief to come under 38 - it took a mega sprint to do it - and those cheeky tykes at Nike put the finish at the top of a 300m hill! I've got more in the tank as well - I wasn't in a pack for much of the second half, and I found it hard to keep my pace up.
Same sentiments as Ian - thanks for the support. And thanks for everyone who bet on me
So that's 2 PB's this weekend - encouraging with two weeks to go til Chicago - and I just noticed that my gentle 5 mile run home from Hyde Park has taken me over 1000 miles in 2006.
GET IN!!!
Off for a bath...

Blotts Mate
Had a huge slab of cake & a capuccino in the forest centre post run. Houmous & tomatoes on bread when I got back.
Popping out to suss out mattresses for my eldest who is 19, 6'4" & 15stone & has had the same mattress since he was 3. He was due to be going to university this month but has had to take a year out re no place this year so I have decided to splash out. He insists the old one is fine even though it has springs popping out of it. strange boy. Then planting time!

Well done Ian.
I ran my slowest ever half marathon today, but that was in order to help someone under 2 hours, which was done successfully. Lovely being able to take it very easy around Henley half marathon, and strange to be running up the hill with all around me either walking or gasping for breath while my breathing was easy and my heart rate was low.

my run was great - ran my first official 10km at nike, came in at 58.22 which was good, as i wanted to do under an hour. could probably go faster, without the crowds.
def. agree with bb about the hill at the finish - really not appreciated. great atmosphere tho!
am off for lunch now....big roast!

Well done Vix - great result with your first 10K.
I really like the Nike Run London event - great mix of top runners and beginners. Nike do a terrific job (as you would expect/hope) and there were some good, encouraging crowds
