Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

A Nice Solo 7 Miler in 56 minutes

This Tea time before meeting Mrs Mick to take her to college, i went for a run, i had only intended just reversing my normal route and doing a 4 miler, but i just kept turning and turning and before i knew it i was on the outer ring road route of town

There was lots of stopping and starting, crossing pavements and juggling with junctions and traffic

But, i just felt good, and relaxed and so FREE, the evening sky was apparent, looking out over the south Cotswolds, the patchy clouds looked so very peaceful, it was very gently chilly

so, i just kept going, NO real pace, NO pushing it, just nice and quiet, i was soon back into town on the South East side leaving me just 2 miles to go home, so i just plodded it nice and steady along the outer ring road avoiding the main route through town itself , I had to laugh, as at times i was moving much faster than the traffic was , then it was my last right turn for home , i knew on this road that i may possibly pass my wife on her electric scooter, but i did'nt

so i arrived home, sweating nicely, but it rapidly in seconds turned into a cold uncomfortable sweat

it was great as i checked my watch to see all 56 minutes of it

it was then shower, dress , go meet wife at college to collect her scooter and things whil'st she went to evening class, i had a nice meal in the college cafe !!!

now i'm back home and Phillip sitting

yes i DID say Sitting

A lovely 6 and a half mile tempo at 7.30/mile which felt easier.

Which can only be a good sign.

What's this doing on page 6?!

12 miles, slow but happy plodding. Glad I'm comfortable with a half-marathonish distances that I can do them for "fun".

A wonderful run in the snow. 5 miles of fun. Fieldfares, redwings, lambs. Doesn't get better.

7 miles, ok stuff. Quite relaxed in places and quite fast in others.
