I have a Garmin 10 and am very happy with it. I love the fact that I don't have to mess about with Garmin software, instead I can upload the run files directly into the FE site! Great for those who, like me, want to see all the stats about my run. Probably the one thing it does lack is the ability to monitor heart rate so if you want to do that, you may need a pricier model!

Welcome Lucy, I can also recommend the Garmin forerunner 10. I paid £100 for mine eighteen months ago and you can get them around £80 now. It sometimes takes a short while to fix on the satellites and in cold weather you may get a small amount of condensation on the inside of the screen but this soon disappears when re charging. I run with mine most days and think its great. You can pay hundreds for fancy GPS watches with extra options but personally I don't think they are necessary. And they do different colours too ![]() |

Top tip for getting satellites is stick your watch on the windowsill while you're going for your pre-run wee ![]() |

Welcome to Fetch LJD, best site on the net. Now the pleasantries are done, I'm going to hijack your thread a bit!! ![]() Can anyone recommend a small, low-profile GPS watch please. I'd like to buy one for the Inspirational MrsC, but she's a proper skinny malinky and if the watch is anything like as chunky as the FR405 I've got she'll not be able to wear it without it giving her a lop-sided wiggle as it pulls her arm to the ground. Problem is, there aren't ever any pictures of these watches on a real person's arm. I was quite surprised at how big the 405 was when I opened the box. Help me please. ![]() |

Hello Lucy! I have an old garmin and it felt old, clunky and outdated compared to the newer models. I might treat myself to a garmin forerunner 10 too - in a funkier colour than my black one. I have very thin wrists and the original ones were so big!

Hi Lucy and welcome I've got the Garmin forerunner 15 - I used to have the old 205, which I really liked but it stopped holding it's charge. I didn't think I would like the 15 nearly as much but I have got used to it and it is only the size of a normal watch really - I would recommend it. I think they also do it in a range of colours if that is your thing! |
