Garmin - bluetooth connectivity issues

How annoying. I found that my Garmin 235 sometimes didn’t work when I had the syncing on both my phone and iPad so I made sure it was disconnected from my phone and just connected to my iPad. It works every time now.

Extreme solution: buying an old phone on ebay purely for getting data into Connect/Fetch! My theory is an old version of Android will still talk to the devices, also do software update to garmin.
