Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Well done Mandymoo! I did a run and my friend has given me a core strength/yoga routine to do post-run so I did that as well. Failed re alcohol as had few glasses watching the football but I'm resolved to do at least 2 days off, with tomorrow and Weds included.

I think you can get the Bavaria 'Radler' low or no alcohol beer over there now, I find it quite an acceptable substitute (particularly the one with lemon) when I'm off booze, such as during Lent.

Question for FRU... why are some days possible to do no booze, and for others, it's about drinking less? The mandatory-ness of drinking on certain days sounds like something to investigate, if we're looking at improving standard of living. I know that there were times in the past when I didn't feel relaxed without a few drinks, but for me at least, that was a confidence thing. I still *like* having a couple of drinks, and I'm not suggesting anyone should stop entirely btw, just curious.

Blimey where’s the time gone! Usual whizz of a week where your not sure what you did but you know you must have done something because it’s thursday tomorrow!

Good question Fetch... requires a mullover in my mulling over time!

Going good this week. I’m knackered though, but not the usual exhaustion feeling. Feel properly tired. The heat level is building up here, sleeping quite challenging without sweats or fidgets

Water working! 5 pints at least a day... still sneaking in two coffees in the morning though.. small steps!

Talking of which 10,000 seems to be achievable for me, I worked out it’s good for me to walk a mile before work, clear my head, get ready for the day. I’m parking the car and then doing a route that sets the mile before work starts

I’m trying to get a few people at the office to join me, as long term it will help to have others with you, it’s so positive to get out, I’m really noticing what a difference in my mood

Running... still hard as f#ck.. but I’m on 2’s so small progress

That’ll do!

Not a great day here - weather was gorgeous tonight so bbq lit and a large g&t

Just over 14000 steps again today so that's good - bonus of having a dog.

Lumpy bike ride planned tomorrow night and then must plan a 40 plus miler on Saturday.

PF is getting better (so physio says) so who knows I may be able to run again soon.

I agree with the early morning walk, mine sets me up for the day

I feel like I’m in the honeymoon period, I’m very mindful of that, the big tests are what to do after the bad day

I want to learn to say oh what the hell and not get bogged down into why do I do X what is this blah blah.. more important to focus on the things that are good.. I would adore having a dog, we’ve already sorted what breeds and names! lol.. patients required on that. Not just yet

14,000 is brilliant, I would up my target but for now 10 is achievable

Bbq weather... don’t be too hard on the booze front either, I noted to myself a while ago the more focus the more my inner rebel comes out

As long as you enjoyed it

I enjoyed the bbq and gin - just the one and I feel in control so yeah all good.

Life is for living and one day off plan doesn't make a disaster as long as it is just one day 😁

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging - but I've had an awesome day (despite cancelled plans with a good friend).

I got up early and ran before it got too warm, I remembered to take a packed lunch and some water flavourings (melon today, I do recommend) to work, I got stuff done at work and went for a walk with colleagues at lunch time, and then I came home in time to talk to the other half before he went out to the running club, and have just finished a very pleasing session of weights followed by yoga. Now I'm gong to have a shower and then some left over veggie curry from Monday night.

Oh yeah, and some treats I ordered for myself a while ago and had forgotten about turned up today as a lovely surprise.

Possibly the best Wednesday ever :D
