I've just got the Jubilee weekend booked for Yorkshire followed by the Mighty Dubfest at Alnwick Castle two weeks later, so that's June sorted. I love making plans and getting them written on the calendar :-)

oh, sounds amazing Mandy. It's on our list to do, but not sure this year. We love France, so keen to do it in the van.

You should definitely take your van to France, RR. It's so easy over there and, of course, so many great places to visit.

When we go away for weekends, we usually head west or south-west. In February, we're going to be radical and go east to Leicestershire. We've booked a lovely CL across the road from a country park and a reservoir within walking distance of 2 pubs :)

MM, we are thinking of going over to France to watch a couple of stages of the TdF, and then touring around a bit. We haven't booked anywhere yet though - would you recommend we do so soon, or do you reckon we could leave it a while, or maybe even just book into places on the day? (I have never taken the van over before. I did take a car over once, many years ago, but we stayed in B&Bs).

The European trips sounds exciting.
We've just booked 4 nights at Castleton for the first week in Feb. 6th time lucky - we've not managed to get there on any of the other occasions so I'm really hoping this time we make it.
Our March trip looks like a couple of nights on my sister's drive - despite Alice being in Spain - so we can celebrate my niece's birthday with her, then a few nights on a campsite with my nephew and his wife (they have a huge tent) somewhere south.
