Our secretary was a little surprised, but handled it all very professionally. She did, reasonably, ask if the woman would spell the name for her, because it was a little unusual. I'm not sure how our secretary remained professional when the mother told her that her son's was spelled g-u-y.

I made a deliberate decision to pronounce it as it was spelt because the Brummies couldn't get their tonsils round the intended pronunciation and made it sound like a completely different name.
