Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

(I've found that, now I read a lot of audiobooks, I know how to pronounce some unusual words/names that I wouldn't have had a clue on had I been reading the physical book. However, when it comes to writing about them, I have no idea how to spell them.)

I went through a phase of (purposefully) pronouncing millennium like a raw earth metal ie mill EE knee um. It bugged the hell out of a friend who’s elderly mother was doing similar unintentionally

Turns up every second para in the “how to train your dragon” books I became like a reluctant horse, stalling everytime it appeared. I even went on YouTube for help

Reading back, I got Epitome incorrectly the same way too. As for HP, I read 50 pages or so of the first books and realised it really was for children, and as such, dull, and never read a word since, I cannot remember Hermione at all.

My mum (and subsequently my brother and I) referred to a cagoule or kagoul as a 'kaggle' for years. It was only when my mum was corrected by a shop assistant that we all changed the pronunciation.
