Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

beders Well all thoughts of a PB were out the window in the blazing sun, 28C + with very little wind or shade made this a lesson in survival. By setting off slow and drenching myself in water at every opportunity I managed to keep going eventually finishing in 1.21.58, nearly 30 seconds faster than my time from 2 years ago and actually my second fastest 10 miler. Said hello to StB who manged 1.15, one of my mates had to drop out and another running mate who I thought would beat me, staggered in in 1.30 so quite happy with my time in very tough conditions.

Cat the Dog Lover FAR too hot. Many dropped out in early stages. Walked twice. Drank 1.5 litres of water, poured another litre over my head. Had energy gel at 5 miles which seemed to work. Good time for the weather.

Northern Exile I don't really want to remember this race. Just come back from holiday so a bit dehydrated and tired, then this race just happened to take place on one of the hottest days of summer with an afternoon start!! Not ideal ..... the shutters came down at about 5 miles and I decided to wait for Helen at a waterstation, not knowing that she'd had a terrible start, had a good cry, headed back to the start and then decided she'd better get on and do it. One to forget, 'orrible.

Oven Gloves An utter disaster from mile 3 onwards. The heat was incredible - well over 80 degrees of blazing sunshine and not a sniff of a breeze. I think everyone suffered to some degree.

Sodahead The conditions were brutal but I am delighted with my effort given the circumstances. 15th overall place and 1st V45 prize and my legs feel OK this morning.
