I can't see how I could do the roughride AND Mayhem. Mayhem has priority. Does look tempting though.

Cath - Easter we are dancing out so can't come and play with you two. There's also a race at Catterick on the Sunday I am toying with entering. nutcrackermtb.co.uk More domestic discussion needed first though ;-)

Oh, and I have to say that new washer of yours does a good job (with me wielding it)

That's good to know. Of course our bikes were as dirty as they were yesterday by the time we got them home :-0

Fair enough about Easter - I'll send you the pics ;)

That Nutcracker race series looks brilliant! Wish I lived nearer so I could take part... I'll be doing as much of the Beastway series as I can again this year, now that the diary is getting full I really need to make sure some other events are booked in. Mmm, mayhem... :)

JohnJ - I ride at the Lookout quite a bit, none of the trails are marked though so it's pretty tricky to find the way round, I still get lost! Best thing is to find a trail and ride it, it's a pretty small area so you never end up to far from the car park and you usually end up coming to s sign that shows you the way back. Alternatively just stop and ask someone, most people seem pretty friendly and are happy to point you in the right direction.

I've done the Rough Ride the last two years, got to say it's one of my favourite events, but I think that's cos it's pretty hard there's a great sense of achievement (or is it relief!) when you finish it! The climbing's pretty relentless, but if it's dry the final descent of Hergest Ridge is great fun and it's well organised, even get a free meal (with cake!) at the end. Not sure if I'm doing it this year as it's the weekend after Hellrider adn I'm not sure I'll be recovered enough by then!

Do you mean at the Roughride? If so the shorter one, that's plenty for me, there's actually higher percentage of climbing in the short route.
