Good progress Wobbling!
Good to hear about people’s successes.

Here the crate training is going well. He sleeps for about an hour in it after about an hour of playtime/training. I’m trying to train him to calm in the puppy pen with his toys when I’m not in there. He goes a bit bezerk so I ignore him and come back and click and treat when he lies down or chews a toy. Early days but we’ll see if he gets the message. If I’m in there with him (when I play with him) I get out if he nips me. It’s so hard being consistent but hopefully he’ll pick it up.
Last night was good. He settled in crate at 20:30, woke at 10 when I took him out for a wee and took crate upstairs etc. Then settled in the crate and slept until 2:15am wee break and then slept until 6am when we got up. He protests and whinges (sometimes for a while with crying) but then does settle. He still dives straight into the crate when I produce a Kong so he’s not too traumatised 😂

Had a phone conversation with my personal trainer (exercise rather than puppy trainer!). I’m going to go in to the studio next week when we’re allowed, take the puppy and we’ll do a mix of socialisation and exercise. I’ll take the crate too and a Kong! My trainer has a 6 year old black lab who is pretty calm so Albie can meet a dog too. We’ve agreed my PT will be a bit unconventional for a few weeks!

I’m in the process of looking for a day or two of dog care in the new year so am looking for a regular sitter.

I’m on borrow my doggy as a borrower - maybe it can’t hurt to set up an owner profile for extra walks or the odd bit of time.

Just to clarify - borrow my doggy would be in addition to any sitter arrangements.

Loving the progress you’ve listed Pen.

I’ve joined BMD too.

I was on BMD before I got Rory. I ended up house and pet sitting for 2 weeks in a house that was much nicer than mine. I can see why people do it as a job...

Rory comes to the gym with me. I clip his lead to something anchored firmly to the ground. He’s quite happy when people are moving around but he doesn’t like it when they lie still on the floor.

I am wary of BMD because Wanda is reactive and can on occasion be not a particularly easy dog so hence use a dog walker with whom I can have an 'agreement'/contract and there is insurance in place (it's something that happens rarely now that we both work from home and will do for the forseeable). However I have a friend who has a whippet and he often spends short overnight breaks with his BMD 'carers'. She was nervous of leaving him at first but he has a lovely time!

Ernie is still not home so either he's having a wonderful walk or they have lost him and not been in touch yet. Getting a bit anxious.

I keep meaning to get back in contact with ‘my’ BMD dogs. We walked all three of them together a few times when Rory first arrived. One of the owners is a public health doctor though, so she’s probably pretty busy at the moment...
