Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I spent a month in Gemany recently and found that German efficiency is a myth that they laugh about themselves.

Good point, was it those VWs that aren't as efficient as we were lead to believe.

I think the most efficient German thing I ever saw was the speed with which you could buy beer at the Munich Oktoberfest.

Music events where you have to buy drinks tokens and then exchange them for drinks. Double queuing, double aggro, complete waste of time.

Festival tourists in Edinburgh who not only want to walk at the speed of an arthritic snail, but to do so whilst three or four abreast thereby blocking the entire pavement.

The stupid cow who made Mrs P's life as difficult as possible trying to make a three-point-turn and then driving off without taking the vacated parking space which we both assumed she wanted. I mean WTF???

I'm quite relieved this person drove off, Little P's vocabulary would have been greatly enhanced for the worse as they would have got a piece of my mind in no uncertain terms!!!

[interesting piece on Berlin Brandenburg International, Jono. A farce I've kept up with on and off since my first visit to Berlin in 2001 and seeing the billboards "BBI - coming in 2007!]
