Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

BBI - in any other country, they'd have opened it anyway, wouldn't they?

Gobshite like this from John Lewis

"Introduce clean lines, curving forms and contrasting materials into your décor with our mid-century modern furniture picks"

It's not mid-century; it's 2016.

Cuddy - that is a complete control freak. We've got one here at work (not my dept luckily). She's known as David (Brent).

RS, we have a Mr and Mrs Brent! Mrs Brent is now driving for staff to 'buddy up' with new starters with a written contract...yes, a contract with shared phone numbers to contact the buddy at will, dated, with signature on bottom. Never mind that the whole thing is different from corporate policy. She'll be surprised when she gets dragged into HR for trying to overwrite corporate HR policy! I have nothing against helping new starters but a signed contract is ridiculous.

Female athletes at the Olympics being referred to as 'girls'. As far as I can see they're in the main over 18 and should be referred to as women.

The female gymnasts are nearly all schoolgirls. And no, gymnastics is not a sport - it's an art.
