Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

+1, ER.

I think it's the latest "Candy Crush" or "FarmVille" thing, but I have no real interest in someone else's ability (or lack thereof) to play computer games.

Thanks Fleecy. I didn’t realise that, but have now made the appropriate settings alteration.

TV shows where the host goes to a location, meets someone and shakes their hand like they've really met them for the first time, as if the audience are stupid enough to believe it.

Including shows where they "surprise" people at home, despite them already having a camera crew inside.

In one of Chris Stewart’s (Genesis drummer prior to Phil Collins) books, he gives a real insight into the palaver that goes on in trying to create a “natural” arrival of an interviewer. e.g. camera inside the house filming the arrival of the interviewer, shot of interviewer knocking on door and Chris opening it then displaying the “first time we’ve met” welcome.

The only one I've seen that appears at all natural is Alan Titchmarsh on 'Love Your Garden'.

The worst I've seen was Dogs Behaving Badly, where they filmed from insider the dog owner's house as they opened the door to greet Graeme Hall, and the dog owner already had a microphone transmitter pack on her waist at the back.

People who don't know how to put a carriage return into a teams/WhatsApp message. "hi badger" and a ten minute pause before any actual content had me twiddling my thumbs irritably.
