Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Never heard of leaving stuff ... but I was raised by parents who'd grown up in WW2 and leaving anything was not an option.

A "simple" recipe that takes six hours.

At least I noticed that before I started to make it.

[was there not an HSBC advert at one point showing that in some cultures it was considered rude to clear your plate, but in others it was considered rude TO clear the plate?]

being new at work and one of the only ones not furloughed, having no one to speak to when I don't know the answer and then when others are in once every two weeks, making me feel like im really slow or wondering what ive been up to :( when in fact im having to spend three times as long on the same task as I have had to teach myself it!

rant over (for now)

I thought that was a fab ad, was about to mention it after these posts! The guy kept finishing the eel he didn’t want to eat, so they kept bringing him another. Was all about understanding different cultures.

'Spring And Port Wine' - play by Bill Naughton & film [1970], starring James Mason, Diane Coupland and Susan George, who resolutely refuses to eat a herring presented to her, mealtime after mealtime. Stress lines start to show in the patriarchy... ;)

"Reach out, c'mon and reach out... I'll be there to love and comfort you..."

That is the only context in which 'reach out' is acceptable.
